The beginning of the path to Vernal Falls starts level. Eventually it begins to climb. It is mostly uphill, but fairly easy since it is well worn. The first point of interest is the bridge over the river with the falls in the distance above. Beyond the bridge the going is more rigorous. This trail is popular so be prepared to encounter a lot of people, of all ages, coming and going. In the early morning, if you are lucky you might encounter a herd of deer making their way to the river. A good trail for beginners up to the bridge.
